Vasara

110 Constitution Dr, Menlo Park, CA

Vasara is a contemporary enclave that translates the ambitions of the Connect Menlo Area Plan into a refined architectural statement. Designed by Heller Manus Architects, the 3.2‑acre development organizes 335 residential units into a cohesive urban composition that redefines a former industrial zone. Its massing is articulated through shifting volumes, deep balconies, and a disciplined interplay of stucco, fiber‑cement, and metal siding, producing a facade that is both rhythmic and quietly expressive.

The residential building frames a sequence of outdoor rooms, paseos, courtyards, and a publicly accessible plaza that weave the site into the surrounding neighborhood. These landscaped spaces, enriched with native plantings and shaded seating, soften the project’s urban scale while encouraging pedestrian movement and social interaction.

A central courtyard anchors the residential experience with a resort‑style pool and spa, while the seventh‑floor roof deck offers expansive views, and dining terraces extend daily life upward into the landscape. Ground level amenities include a community lounge, fitness center, yoga studio, work pods, conference room and bicycle parking. This pet-friendly apartment community offers an expansive dog run area and pet wash. The project’s careful calibration of density, open space, and material clarity positions Vasara as a model for thoughtful urban infill with an architecture that is contemporary yet grounded, efficient yet generous in its public spirit.
