Pleasant Hill Downtown

Modeled after classic downtowns, the new Pleasant Hill Downtown is an artful blend of activities and resources that will attract people from the surrounding community and beyond. The plan integrates six complementary uses and activity zones on 42 acres, comprising approximately 1.2 M square feet, including retail, entertainment and hospitality, office, residential, a civic center, and public open space. Ample parking will be provided with direct access to downtown activities, including 3,500 off-street spaces.

The urban design plan creates a master plan of streets and plazas to form a continuous pedestrian network. The design team set standards for the scale and massing of each urban space, determined the appropriate range of uses, and established design detail standards with which all future development would comply. A focus of downtown activity will center on sensitive architecture, plazas, and open spaces, which will punctuate the commercial core and civic center.
