Site: 251,000 sf No. Stories: 11 stories
Located adjacent to the Civic Center, Fox Plaza is a mixed-use complex from the early 1960s. The proposed project master plan includes the addition of an 11-story flatiron building to replace the existing low-rise commercial and retail annex. The planned 230 unit residential project will contain 251,000 gsf and a rooftop terrace which affords sweeping views up and down Market Street. A dramatic curved glass façade at the tip of the building at Market and Polk establishes a crisp character for the building while the vertical glass and precast façade along Market Street unifies the project with its neighboring buildings recalling the Art Deco style of the San Francisco Mart opposite the site. Finally, the 22,000 sf retail space along the Market and Hayes Streets frontages will serve an already active neighborhood.
