Site: 350,000 sf No. Stories: Two towers: 9 stories & 23 stories
Sustainable Features: LEED Silver
At the intersection of Market and First Streets, 455 Market Street creates a distinctive dual-tower profile. The design of this site was developed in response to urban planning concerns and lowered height limits that predate the official implementation of the San Francisco Downtown Plan. A nine-story low-rise tower and a taller, 23-story tower on the southern half of the site are the essence of the site character. Granite cladding and bay windows are prominent features of the composition along with the ground level articulation that is designed to maximize pedestrian activity. A two-story midblock pedestrian arcade and plaza provides entry into a common building lobby as well as access to the adjacent 5 Fremont Plaza and the Transbay Terminal.
