340 Fremont Street

San Francisco, CA

Site: 560,000 sf     No. Stories: 40 stories

Located near the top of Rincon Hill, 340 Fremont is envisioned as a sustainable, high-density residence consisting of a slender 40-story tower atop an 8-story base. Contributing to the evolving nature of the Rincon Hill neighborhood, the building base will create an urban street wall proportional to the character of Fremont Street as it relates to existing and proposed projects in the area. The planar portion of the tower will be clad using precast concrete panels and punched operable windows while the curved portion of the tower curtain wall system will include lightly tinted green glazing and metal panels. The precast concrete panels color is designed to harmonize with the glass, producing an overall blended visual appearance. In the units, glass windows will extend from floor to ceiling to maximize views, and balconies and bay windows will provide a rich visual texture and varying rhythm. The top of the building features setbacks and a cornice, which will create a distinct building form on the city skyline.
